After a two-year hiatus, “The 4-H Magic is Back” at the Somerset County 4-H Fair returning to North Branch Park at 355 Milltown Road in Bridgewater, on Aug. 10 to 12, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., where visitors can enjoy free, family fun. People of all ages will like the art, animal, and science displays, as well as the hands-on demonstrations, shows and exhibits, food, live music, free parking and much more.

The 4-H Fair provides participating local youth with an opportunity to showcase their projects and is also a great way for the public to connect with local community organizations, non-profits, government agencies, and businesses throughout the fair.

As the largest free 4-H Fair in the state, Somerset County 4-H Fair typically attracts more than 60,000 visitors, and in 2020 it was named “Outstanding Event” by Somerset County Tourism. A County tradition since 1947, the fair receives major funding from the Somerset County Board of Commissioners.

“The return of the Somerset County 4-H Fair is just what our county needs. 4-H is such an important part of the County’s culture and community,” said County Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. “We encourage residents and visitors to come to the fair to celebrate family, make new connections, and enjoy all that our County has to offer.”

“4-H is proud to be a long-standing staple of Somerset County by providing a place for all community members to come together,” said Lisa Rothenburger, the County Extension Department Head who oversees the fair. “Generations of county residents have looked forward to this event, and we couldn’t be happier to be bringing the magic back after a two-year absence.”
