Montgomery Township has implemented a program whereby owners of unoccupied parcels that are developed must register their property or properties with the township and renew this registration annually. This includes any vacant home or building.
The intended purpose is to protect and preserve the public health, safety and welfare, and the security and quiet enjoyment of residents and neighborhoods by requiring all property owners, including lenders, trustees and service companies, to properly maintain vacant and/or foreclosing properties; and to regulate the maintenance of vacant and/or foreclosing properties to prevent blighted and unsecured properties.
