Keep Bats Out of Your Home

Bats are one of the most commonly reported rabid animals. Our Animal Control Office is offering the following tips to help keep your family safe.
 

1. Examine your home for holes by walking around the outside - pay careful attention to where the roof meets the walls, around windows and along door seams.
2. Caulk or cover any openings that are larger than a dime.
3. If you have bats in your attic, watch at dusk to see where they exit and seal up the hole.

If you have been bitten or scratched by a bat, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water. You should seek medical attention immediately.
